We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Pipe Designer to join our fast-paced engineering consulting team. In this role, you will lead piping design efforts for industrial plant projects across the pharmaceutical, chemical, food & beverage, paper, and pet care industries.

This is an excellent opportunity for a self-sufficient designer who enjoys a mix of field work, 3D modeling, client interaction, and multi-discipline coordination. You will play a key role in transforming field data and client requirements into fully integrated, construction-ready piping design packages.

What You’ll Do

• Perform field surveys, site measurements, and as-built verification of existing piping systems and equipment
• Interface directly with clients to understand project scope, requirements, and design objectives
• Develop and maintain detailed 3D piping models using AVEVA E3D and AutoCAD 3D
• Produce accurate 2D deliverables including:
  • P&IDs
  • Orthographic drawings
  • Isometrics
  • Pipe support details
  • Construction drawings
• Coordinate piping layouts with process, mechanical, structural, electrical, instrumentation, and civil disciplines
• Participate in model reviews, clash detection, and design quality checks
• Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and client specifications
• Support construction activities by responding to RFIs and conducting site visits when needed
• Manage multiple projects while maintaining schedule, quality, and budget expectations

What We’re Looking For

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of industrial piping design experience
• Strong background in pharmaceutical, chemical, food processing, paper, pet care, or similar process industries
• Expert proficiency with AVEVA E3D
• Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD 2D and AutoCAD 3D
• Experience performing field measurements and equipment documentation independently
• Thorough understanding of:
  • Piping materials and specifications
  • Pipe supports
  • Stress and flexibility considerations
  • Constructability best practices
• Proven experience producing complete construction-ready piping design packages
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work directly with clients and internal engineering teams
• Ability to manage priorities independently in a deadline-driven environment
• Willingness to travel for short-duration field assignments

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in Mechanical Design, Drafting Technology, or related field
• Experience with Brownfield projects and plant revamps
• Familiarity with laser scanning and point cloud integration
• Knowledge of industry standards such as:
  • ASME B31.3
  • ASME B31.1
  • Hygienic piping standards
• Experience with AVEVA E3D administration or customization is a plus
