Position Title: Technical Specialist – Building & Industrial Control Systems Travel: Local, regional, and national travel may be required
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Technical Specialist to support the development, implementation, and commissioning of advanced Building Management Systems (BMS) , Electrical Power Management Systems (EPMS) , SCADA , and Industrial Control Systems (ICS) . This role requires strong technical leadership, hands-on troubleshooting ability, and a deep understanding of interconnected control and monitoring systems.
The ideal candidate will have a proven background in electrical and mechanical distribution systems and experience ensuring system performance, interoperability, and cybersecurity.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and maintain complex BMS, EPMS, and SCADA systems with advanced integrations.
Configure and troubleshoot communication devices (TCP/IP, Modbus Gateways, etc.) and monitoring tools such as Modscan.
Commission and calibrate instrumentation for power meters, PDUs, ATS, generators, UPS systems, and related equipment.
Perform Point-to-Point and functional startup scripts on EPMS/BMS/ICS systems.
Review supplier documentation, prepare technical sketches, and assist in commissioning and testing of electrical systems.
Perform basic electrical and mechanical calculations and maintain accurate technical documentation.
Load, update, and configure PLC applications and communication parameters.
Support startup and issue management using commissioning tools such as CX Alloy.
Collaborate with engineering and project teams to ensure quality and compliance.
Qualifications
10+ years of experience installing, testing, and troubleshooting EPMS, BMS, SCADA, and industrial instrumentation systems.
High School Diploma with 10+ years of relevant experience or Associate’s Degree with 8+ years of experience.
Strong knowledge of electrical distribution systems including switchgear, transformers, relays, and UPS systems.
Proficiency with PLC and SCADA programming and troubleshooting.
Excellent communication and technical writing skills.
Reliable attendance and flexibility to travel as required.
Preferred Technologies
Allen Bradley PLC, Ignition, Distech, Niagara, Siemens Desigo, Eaton Foreseer, Schneider EPO, OSI, Wonderware
Instrumentation calibrator/simulator tools
Preferred Certifications
CCST (Certified Control Systems Technician)
Security+ certification
Physical & Work Requirements
Ability to work at heights up to 60 feet and in confined spaces as needed.
Regular walking, climbing, lifting, kneeling, and reaching.
Prolonged periods working on computers and technical systems.
Ability to interpret and communicate complex technical information effectively.
