Job Opportunity: HR & Payroll Assistant (Part-Time / Contract)

Pay Rate: Starting at $25.00 per hour

Our contract staffing firm has been retained by a leading, long-standing automotive dealership in Mechanicsville to find a precise and reliable HR & Payroll Assistant. This is a dedicated contract role designed for a professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment but values the flexibility of a part-time schedule.

The Role

You will serve as a key administrative partner, ensuring that the dealership’s most valuable asset—its people—are supported and paid accurately. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys "owning" their workflow and maintaining high standards of data integrity.

Key Responsibilities

• Payroll Administration: Assist in the weekly processing of payroll, ensuring all hours, commissions, and deductions are calculated correctly.

• HR Support: Manage sensitive employee files, assist with the onboarding of new hires, and ensure compliance with employment records.

• Timekeeping Oversight: Audit electronic timecards and coordinate with department managers to resolve discrepancies.

• Reporting: Generate basic monthly reports related to labor costs, taxes, and benefit enrollments.

Qualifications

• Proven Experience: At least 2+ years of experience in payroll processing or HR administration.

• Detail-Oriented: A "measure twice, cut once" mentality when it comes to data entry and financial figures.

• Software Proficiency: Strong skills in Microsoft Excel; experience with dealership management systems (DMS) or specialized payroll platforms is a significant plus.

• Professionalism: The ability to handle confidential information with absolute discretion.
