Job Title: Industrial Systems Lab Technician / Automation Lab Coordinator

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Industrial Systems Lab Technician to support and manage system test labs for automation and control systems. This role ensures reliable lab operations, secure industrial networks, and well-maintained test environments that support PLC, HMI, and industrial PC–based systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day operations and infrastructure of Industrial Systems system test labs

  • Maintain, configure, and upgrade PLCs, HMIs, industrial PCs, automation hardware, and simulation environments

  • Troubleshoot network connectivity issues; configure switches, routers, and segmented lab networks

  • Administer virtual environments (VMware, Hyper-V) and maintain virtual machines for testing and training

  • Apply and maintain cybersecurity controls in alignment with IEC 62443 standards and internal policies

  • Coordinate lab scheduling, system readiness, and continuous improvement initiatives

  • Maintain accurate inventories of lab assets, software licenses, and client-supplied materials using ERP systems

  • Receive, inspect, track, and ship automation systems and lab equipment

  • Maintain technical documentation including network diagrams, procedures, and incident logs

  • Perform regular safety inspections and serve as lab liaison for safety committees and building management

Qualifications

  • Technical diploma or associate degree in industrial automation, electrical/electronics technology, computer networking, mechatronics, or related field, or equivalent experience

  • Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience in automation systems, industrial networking, or technical lab environments

  • Working knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, industrial networks, and virtualization platforms

  • Strong organizational, documentation, and problem-solving skills
