Industrial Mechanic

Position Overview

We’re seeking a dependable Industrial Mechanic with strong technical and mechanical know-how to support, maintain, and improve heavy machinery and facility systems in a manufacturing environment. This role focuses on equipment reliability, problem-solving, and mechanical system performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform mechanical repairs, part replacements, system upgrades, and machine installations.

  • Complete routine service checks and keep clear records of work and parts used.

  • Understand and follow mechanical layouts, blueprints, and system diagrams.

  • Maintain and troubleshoot production machines including gear units, drives, hydraulic/pneumatic components, conveyor systems, and press equipment.

  • Rebuild parts and machines offline, test, and return to inventory or flag for further action.

  • Operate machining and fabrication tools (e.g., welders, grinders, mills) as needed for part repairs or modifications.

  • Conduct routine inspections with a focus on safe operation and code compliance.

  • Report findings, document maintenance activity, and coordinate with other departments on issues affecting production flow.

Required Qualifications

  • Technical diploma, trade certification, or 3+ years in industrial mechanical maintenance.

  • Hands-on experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.

  • Familiar with hydraulic and pneumatic systems, as well as mechanical power transmission.

  • Skilled at interpreting mechanical diagrams and troubleshooting issues independently.

  • Knowledge of safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout and hazard control.

  • Computer skills with basic understanding of maintenance tracking or work order systems.

  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing and 5S methods is preferred.

  • Must provide own basic mechanical tools (metric and SAE).

  • Bonus if experienced with extrusion, material handling systems, print machinery, or converting equipment.
