Position Overview:
The Project Inspector will serve full-time for the duration of construction activities. Each inspector must be a journeyman with a minimum of seven years of specialty experience directly related to the work being performed under the contract.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide continuous, on-site inspection services throughout all phases of construction.
Inspect materials, workmanship, construction methods, and installation of various systems to ensure compliance with project requirements.
Review and interpret engineering and architectural plans and specifications.
Verify proper installation methods of construction materials within the assigned area of expertise.
Perform material takeoffs, compute construction costs for changes, and price the value of work completed.
Assist in negotiating equitable contract adjustments when required.
Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and OSHA safety requirements.
At least one inspector will be responsible for conducting inspections of elevators.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
In-depth knowledge of construction practices, techniques, and proper installation methods.
Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings, architectural plans, and specifications.
Ability to evaluate materials, workmanship, and installation of systems within the inspector’s area of expertise.
Knowledge of construction safety practices, including OSHA requirements.
Familiarity with applicable codes and industry standards in area of expertise.
