Job Description

Job Title: Project Manager
Location: On-site (Manufacturing Assembly Shop)

Company Overview:
We are a growing manufacturing company specializing in the production of custom glass curtainwall systems for large-scale construction projects. Our facility operates as a high-paced assembly shop, working closely with construction site operations teams to ensure timely, accurate, and high-quality product delivery.

Position Overview:
We are seeking a Project Manager with a background in manufacturing or construction to help coordinate production workflows, manage procurement, and support financial oversight of large-scale projects (up to $6M). This role is based in our manufacturing shop and is integral to bridging project planning with production execution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Drawing Interpretation:
Read and interpret technical construction and manufacturing drawings. Ability to perform material takeoffs or a willingness to learn.

  • Material Resource Planning (MRP):
Heavy involvement with MRP systems to track work orders, manage inventory, and plan production schedules. Strong data skills required (pivot tables, Excel spreadsheets, etc.).

  • Procurement & Inventory Management:
Act as a liaison between the project and suppliers. Responsible for buying materials, writing POs, and ensuring timely procurement to meet project needs.

  • Financial Oversight:
Understand job budgets and scopes (up to $6M). Review and approve invoices, track costs against budget, and ensure financial accountability across the project.

  • Scheduling & Project Management:
Familiarity with construction scheduling tools like Gantt charts and Microsoft Project is a big plus. Ability to break down large scopes (e.g., building a curtainwall tower) into manageable tasks and timelines.

  • Cross-Functional Coordination:
Work closely with both the in-shop production teams and field operations teams to coordinate deliverables, align priorities, and ensure a seamless build-to-site workflow.

Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Background in manufacturing, construction, or a similar project-based environment

  • Experience with MRP systems and procurement

  • Strong Excel and data analysis skills

  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and/or perform material takeoffs

  • Familiarity with financial tracking, invoicing, and budget management

  • Experience with project scheduling tools (Gantt charts, MS Project, etc.)

  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to handle multiple responsibilities without direct reports

Additional Notes:

  • This is a project-based role in a manufacturing shop environment.

  • You will not have direct reports but will be expected to independently manage and coordinate key aspects of project delivery.

  • Strong potential for growth and career development if successful in the role.
