Role Overview

We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to take ownership of electrical design activities across multiple custom automation projects. This position is ideal for a highly motivated engineering professional who thrives on solving complex electrical challenges, communicates clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders, and values continuous improvement to help elevate team performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of electrical control panels and related schematics from initial concept through system delivery using AutoCAD or equivalent platforms.

  • Collaborate closely with Controls Engineers to ensure electrical layouts are fully integrated with software systems and functional requirements.

  • Ensure all designs meet compliance with applicable safety and electrical standards including NEC, NFPA, ANSI, and ISO.

  • Support onsite testing and system commissioning to validate design performance and safety criteria.

  • Serve as the in-house expert for diagnosing and resolving issues with electrical hardware and control elements.

  • Provide technical oversight and hands-on support during the assembly, installation, and commissioning phases of projects.

  • Guide and mentor less experienced engineers in best practices related to layout design, documentation, and troubleshooting.

Required Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 7 years of hands-on project experience

    OR

  • High school diploma (or equivalent) with 15+ years of relevant electrical design and integration experience

Core Technical Skills

  • Expertise with electrical CAD tools and panel layout design

  • Strong knowledge of national and international electrical codes and safety standards

  • Familiarity with ERP systems for managing bills of materials and job orders

  • Competence in handling change control processes (ECR, ECO, ECN)

  • Solid understanding of ISO 9001 and quality-driven engineering practices

  • Ability to create detailed documentation such as manuals, reports, and operating procedures

  • Project leadership experience balancing technical specs, timelines, and budgets

  • Strong command of Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint

Bonus Qualifications

  • Background in defense or aerospace manufacturing

  • Certification in Project Management (PMP or equivalent)

  • Familiarity with mechanical design principles, including CAD modeling (SolidWorks), FEA, and GD&T
