Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Vendor Contracts Manager to lead the end-to-end management of vendor and supplier agreements supporting a fast-paced pharmaceutical manufacturing environment. This role will serve as the primary contract expert, partnering with Procurement, Supply Chain, Operations, Legal, and external vendors to negotiate, draft, review, and administer commercial agreements.
The ideal candidate has extensive experience managing vendor contracts, developing Statements of Work (SOWs), negotiating commercial terms, and ensuring contractual compliance. Experience supporting manufacturing, pharmaceutical, healthcare, or highly regulated industries is preferred but not required.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review, negotiate, and administer a wide range of vendor, supplier, and service agreements.
- Manage the complete contract lifecycle from initial request through execution, amendments, renewals, and closeout.
- Partner with Procurement and business stakeholders to develop Statements of Work (SOWs), pricing schedules, and service agreements.
- Lead contract negotiations with suppliers while balancing business objectives and risk management.
- Review contractual language to identify legal, commercial, and operational risks and recommend appropriate revisions.
- Maintain strong working relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders throughout the procurement process.
- Ensure contracts comply with company policies, regulatory requirements, and procurement standards.
- Track contract milestones, expiration dates, renewals, and vendor performance.
- Support sourcing initiatives involving raw materials, ingredients, packaging, syringes, manufacturing supplies, equipment, and professional services.
- Assist with resolving contract disputes and vendor performance issues.
- Maintain accurate contract documentation and reporting within the contract management system.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or Paralegal certification preferred; equivalent contract management experience will be considered.
- Experience in vendor contract management, procurement, contract administration, or commercial contracting.
- Experience drafting, negotiating, and managing vendor and supplier contracts.
- Strong understanding of procurement processes and commercial contracting principles.
- Experience developing and negotiating Statements of Work (SOWs).
- Excellent contract review, negotiation, and analytical skills.
- Ability to build strong relationships with vendors and cross-functional business teams.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple contracts simultaneously.
- Experience working in regulated industries such as pharmaceutical, manufacturing, healthcare, biotechnology, or medical devices is a plus.
- Experience with contract lifecycle management (CLM) systems is preferred.
Preferred Experience
- Pharmaceutical, biotechnology, healthcare, manufacturing, or medical device industry experience.
- Government contracting experience with FAR and DFARS regulations is highly desirable.
- Background as a Contract Manager, Contract Administrator, Procurement Manager, Senior Buyer, Procurement Specialist, Vendor Contract Manager, Commercial Contracts Manager, or Contract Paralegal.
