IMSA Level Technician | DC

Our client is looking for a IMSA (International Municipal Signal Association) Level Technician that will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of traffic control systems, street lighting, and other related infrastructure. This position is needed to ensure the smooth operation and safety of municipal and roadway systems by adhering to industry standards and regulatory requirements. The work will often involve field operations, collaboration with engineering teams, and troubleshooting complex electrical and mechanical systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Traffic Signal Maintenance: Install, repair, and maintain traffic signals, control cabinets, and related equipment.
• Inspection & Testing: Conduct regular inspections and performance testing of electrical systems to ensure compliance with IMSA standards.
• System Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve issues with malfunctioning traffic signals, sensors, and power supplies.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs.
• Safety Compliance: Ensure all work adheres to occupational safety standards and local regulations.
• Collaboration: Work with municipal departments and contractors to implement traffic system upgrades or new installations.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

• IMSA Level I, II, or III certification
• Proficiency in reading electrical schematics and blueprints.
• Strong knowledge of traffic signal components and electrical systems.
• Hands-on experience with tools and diagnostic equipment for fieldwork.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Effective communication skills and attention to detail.
