The Role:

In this critical role, you will be responsible for the troubleshooting, maintenance, and optimization of combustion equipment in a field setting. This includes boilers, flames, gas systems, burners, and ovens. You will be the go-to expert for ensuring efficient and safe combustion processes.


  • Troubleshoot and repair combustion equipment, including burner systems, control panels, and PLCs.
  • Analyze combustion efficiency and recommend improvements to optimize performance and reduce emissions.
  • Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance to ensure the safe and reliable operation of equipment.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of all work performed.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to resolve complex technical issues.
  • Uphold strict safety standards and maintain an OSHA 10 certification (or be willing to obtain one).

You are a perfect fit if you have:

  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in a field combustion role.
  • Proven understanding of combustion principles, boiler operations, and burner systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with a focus on quick and effective solutions.
  • Experience working with control panels and PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • A strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety.

This is a field position with travel required throughout the state of Virginia. The role is based within a 1-hour radius of Richmond, VA.
